Romantic Wedding on Balsam Mountain

Allie and Ryley planned the most magical fall wedding in the mountains of North Carolina. Their entire event was SO classy and full of the perfect fall vibes tucked away on the mountaintop. Allie and Ryley’s style helped them create a timeless wedding weekend to celebrate their next chapter with all of their loved ones. It was a DREAM celebration for them – but also for me, as their wedding photographer, to document. Just wait until you see their incredible mountain wedding day! 

Classic Fall Wedding

When I arrived at Allie’s suite, I knew we were in for a really special day. She looked amazing in her ivory pajamas and lace robe – an absolute vision! Allie and her spectacular vendor team had compiled the most gorgeous details for me to photograph. She had her gorgeous shoes, invitations, favorite perfume, and the perfect gold tray to place her delicate jewelry on for photos. 

Allie and Ryley’s invitation suite might be one of my all-time favorites! It was so elegant with a simple gold wax seal and sketch of Balsam Mountain at the bottom. Classic – but understated and beautiful. My other favorite detail was definitely the personalized black ring box. It was the perfect classic detail to tie everything together. 

After getting ready with her girls, Allie met her father for a first look inside Balsam Mountain Preserve’s building. The staircase along the shiplapped walls was perfect for a dramatic moment with her father. That drama quickly turned into lots of emotions for Allie and her dad!

Balsam Mountain Wedding Ceremony

The vibe for Allie and Ryley’s day definitely came from their own personal style and the existing aesthetic at the Balsam Mountain Preserve. With that in mind, Allie and Ryley didn’t plan for a lot of décor at their wedding ceremony. It just wasn’t necessary! The view was incredible. They relied on the gorgeous mountain and fall leaves instead, to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony. Allie and Ryley exchanged their vows and couldn’t keep their eyes off each other – or their smiles off their faces! It was seriously the most magical, perfect fall ceremony.

Following their wedding ceremony, I had the chance to spend some time with Allie, Ryley and their wedding party on top of Balsam Mountain. We captured the most romantic and beautiful fall wedding portraits for some of the most chic people I know. Allie and Ryley are seriously an incredible power couple – and most importantly, so in love! Allie chose a gorgeous strapless gown for their fall wedding day. It had a lace bodice with floral accents and she carried a sophisticated all-ivory wedding bouquet. Her bridesmaids were in beautiful burnt orange bridesmaid dresses and the groom and groomsmen went with classic black suits!

Nighttime Wedding Reception at Balsam Mountain Preserve

Allie and Ryley’s chic style didn’t end with their details or her incredible bouquet. Their evening reception centered around a beautiful sparkly, clear tent placed in the middle of the land. Inside the tent was a luxurious wonderland full of the most beautiful flowers and personalized details. Their centerpieces contained a muted floral display with ivory and purple tea roses and fun anthurium flowers! They were stunning!! Allie and Ryley also brought their personalities to the reception with fun drink sticks featuring their pup and a fun neon sign. It was so fun!

The party rolled on into the night thanks to their live band and the absolute best part of the day? Their incredible fireworks display!! It was the best way to end this stunning mountain wedding day!
